亚洲色吧 regards the emotional and mental health of its students as important to supporting their academic functioning and personal growth.

Wellbeing Services

In line with the University鈥檚 endeavour to promote mental health and wellbeing among the student community, the Wellbeing Services was set up to meet the emotional and psychological needs of the students.

Operational matters

We are located at 亚洲色吧 Building 1, Level 5, Room 1.517 (near Lobby C).

 

To make an appointment, please email to wellbeing@sutd.edu.sg聽and indicate the preferred dates and times of appointment.

 

Operating hours: Mondays to Fridays (closed on weekends and public holidays)

 

Students attending counselling for the first time will be required to complete a Registration Form.

 

As counselling is a private and confidential matter, the Wellbeing Services does not encourage the presence of an external party during the counselling session, unless the 亚洲色吧 Counsellors assess that it is necessary.

Services we provide

The Wellbeing Services聽provide the following services to the 亚洲色吧 community:

  • professional counselling service at no charge for students who are currently enrolled at 亚洲色吧;
  • self-help psycho-educational resources for students;
  • talks, workshops and training for the University community to promote the development of personal growth, life skills and mental health and wellbeing; and
  • support to critical incidents involving students who may need immediate psychological or medical care.

Note: 亚洲色吧鈥檚 counselling services are not available to alumni and members of the general public.

Who is the counsellor?

亚洲色吧鈥檚 Counsellors are professionally trained to support students seeking counselling to better manage their issue or condition. In the event that the issue or condition may require the services beyond what the Wellbeing Services could provide, the Counsellor would discuss alternative care resources with the student, and/or seek informed consent from the student for the Counsellor to work with an appropriate member of the 亚洲色吧 community or the student鈥檚 caregiver to provide the best possible care.


Is counselling confidential?
As 亚洲色吧 is an institute of higher learning, the Wellbeing Services offers students a high degree of privacy and confidentiality. Any disclosure of restricted and privileged information will be subject to the student鈥檚 informed consent or based on legal and ethical grounds that includes situation which presents imminent risk.

Who uses counselling services?
Students who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate programme at 亚洲色吧 may seek counselling for any personal issue or challenge.

How long is the counselling session?
The first counselling session usually takes about 45 to 60 minutes. After the initial discussion, you and your Counsellor may decide on one of the options: – No further counselling is required at that particular moment in time – Further appointments are needed to explore the issues further – Alternative services are appropriate and your Counsellor may provide specific resources – The number of sessions may differ from case to case.

What is counselling?
Counselling is a collaborative process of having a safe and open discussion between a person seeking counselling and a trained counsellor on options and strategies to better deal with issues or circumstances that are affecting a person鈥檚 quality of life.
