Learning objectives
- Understand the types and components of IT (Information Technology) infrastructure pertinent to database management.
- Comprehend the different phases of database designing, spanning from requirement collection to physical design.
- Develop the ability to construct a DBMS (DataBase Management System) to support a data science pipeline.
- Familiarise with data management technologies such as distributed DBMS, as well as database administration tasks and security measures.
Day 1
- Introduction of Database Management System (types and components of IT infrastructure, applications of database management system)
- Phases of Database Designing (First phase: requirement collection and analysis, second phase: conceptual design)
Day 2
- Phases of Database Designing (Third phase: logical design, fourth phase: physical design)
- Modern Data Management Technologies: Understanding distributed database management systems, business intelligence and data warehouses, big data and NoSQL
- Database Administration and Security
