Learning objectives

- Understand the interface and different data types in data visualisation tools.
- Create basic visualisations using data visualisation tools to convey insights effectively.
Day 1
- Gestalt principles – Similarity, Continuity, Closure, Proximity, Figure and Ground, Common Fate, Symmetry
- 5 steps to data storytelling (audience profiling)
- 5 steps to data storytelling (designing your story, prepping your data, choosing the right visuals, making it “pop”)
Day 2
- Tableau: Connecting to data sources, interface of Tableau, data types in Tableau, dimensions vs measures, continuous vs discrete, creating basic visualisations (part 1).
- Power BI: Get data, interface of Power BI, data types in Power BI, measures, fact, dimension, creating basic visualisations (part 1).
