UROP Plus

UROP+ is a聽tailored research programme and focused training platform聽for聽Term 6聽亚洲色吧 undergraduates who wish to delve deeper into their research interests and pursue research as their prospective career.

 

Why UROP+

UROP+ lets you:

  • Experience intensive and advanced research to deepen and strengthen your research skills
  • Extend your network and interaction with fellow peers,聽researchers, graduate students and faculty who share similar research and/or career interests
  • Develop writing and presentation skills for publications and research conferences/seminars

Eligibility

UROP+ is open to all 亚洲色吧 undergraduates in聽Term 6聽who are not on Leave of Absence, Academic Probation or under Required Withdrawal.

Requirements

UROP+ is an聽颈苍诲别辫别苍诲别苍迟听research activity.

To be eligible for UROP+ certification, you would need to carry out satisfactory completion of the assessment items below. You will be evaluated by your project supervisor and an independent reviewer (亚洲色吧 faculty) at the end of the programme.

Project duration

The duration of a UROP+ project is 3 terms (Term 6 to Term 8).

Project funding

Successful UROP+ proposals will be supported with聽S$3,000 funding for materials and consumables to be spent according to the UROP Funding Guidelines

Call-for-Proposal and student application聽

Call-for-Proposal and student application periods will be announced via email before Term 6.

 

Faculty/PIs are welcome to submit their proposals online at聽聽during the call-for-proposals period.

 

Approved UROP+ projects will open for student application in聽.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know if I am accepted into UROP?
Students will receive an email one week before new term starts. Otherwise, drop us an email at聽urop@sutd.edu.sg.聽
I am working on a project but cannot complete within 1 term. What should I do?
You will have to discuss with your supervisor who will then submit a request for project extension to the UROP office.聽Please note that the maximum duration allowed for a UROP project is 2 terms.
How do I know if I am eligible for a UROP certificate?
At the end of your UROP, you will be evaluated by your project supervisor. If your work is deemed satisfactory, your supervisor will recommend you for a UROP certificate. You will be notified to collect your certificate when it is ready. Participation will also be recorded in your Fifth Row transcript.
Where can students view the list of projects available?

Projects are available online via聽聽during the student application period (refer to schedule)

Can students participate in the UROP more than once?
Yes you can.聽However, priority will be given to first-time UROPers.
