Future vision of Kyoto 21st century 鈥 KYOTO SOAP
Contributors were asked to develop strategies for Kyoto鈥檚 future. One of the proposals focusing on updating Kyoto鈥檚 identity construct is a TV-sitcom, in which actual issues would be made widely known and debated by using an easy-to-be-consumed media. KYOTO SOAP embeds topics currently discussed in reality into its plots: like as urban planning strategies and environmental issues. Citizens鈥 opinions on these issues will become part of the plots and be staged as disputes between characters. The settings are Kyoto鈥檚 heritage sites, train stations, houses, markets, its sinister places, KAI airport etc.
