Mapletree – Tsang Yam Pui Bursary

Supported by Mapletree, the Mapletree – Tsang Yam Pui Bursary is aimed at providing financial assistance to deserving undergraduates pursuing their studies at ɫ.
Eligibility
  • Open to Singaporean citizens only
  • Full-time undergraduates in any year of study, pursuing any pillar programme at the University
  • Demonstrated financial need with monthly Per Capita Income of S$2,500 and below
  • Not currently holding a scholarship

If there are 2 or more candidates of equal merit, priority will be given to the one with greater financial need.

Benefits of award
  • Each Award is valued at S$7,000 per academic year and shall be applied towards the payment of annual tuition fees and study-related expenses.
  • Recipients may be granted internship and/or career opportunities with Mapletree.
Tenure
  • The award is tenable for 1 academic year.
  • Recipients may reapply to be considered for the award in their subsequent year of study, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.
Things to note

Recipients must have taken up the Tuition Grant Scheme by the Singapore Government. This is automatically done upon completion of the Tuition Grant Declaration Form during enrolment at the University.

 

 

THIS BURSARY AWARD IS ESTABLISHED IN HONOUR OF MR TSANG YAM PUI:
The naming of the bursary after Mr Tsang Yam Pui is to build a legacy that enables future generations of students to learn of Mr Tsang’s stewardship and contributions to the real estate sector. Mr Tsang served on the Board of Mapletree Investments Pte Ltd for over a decade, and officially retired on 31 January 2022.

 

As a member of the Audit and Risk Committee, Mr Tsang provided invaluable counsel to the Group on its investments over the years. He was also the Non-Executive Chairman and Director of Mapletree Commercial Trust Management Ltd (MCTM), which manages the Mapletree Commercial Trust, since 2011.

 

Mr Tsang’s strategic guidance has helped the Mapletree Group grow from a Singapore-centric company in 2003, to a global company with total assets under management of more than S$78.7 billion (as at 31 March 2022).
